Business Plan, the style beyond the substance

Business Plan, the style beyond the substance

A business plan is not judged only by its content, but from its capacity to impress the reader with its style, graphic appearance, content distribution and presentation. To be clear, the substance must be there, in terms of quality of the analysis, explanation of the assumptions, validation of the outcomes. However, the document must be attractive, simple, easy to read. Here some very important editing rules:

  • to keep a simple style and essential copywriting, favoring light colors, short sentences, a sequence of arguments by bullets, highlights in numbers;
  • to balance wisely text with graphs and tables;
  • to destinate to attachments documents and parts with an extensive content, necessary to the study, a case recurring for technical drawings and descriptions;
  • to often use infographics with a synthesis of the data and the information.
